In a research study conducted by the Vision Council, researchers found that of the 200 pairs of eyeglasses received, 44.8% of them had incorrect prescriptions or safety issues outside of standardized guidelines. Several pairs had the wrong lens types. And even more alarming was the fact that 23% of adult eyeglasses and 29% of children’s failed to meet impact test standards.  According to a recent study by the American Optometric Association, over 50% of eyeglasses ordered online are inaccurate prescriptions or have safety issues.

Eyeglasses are a custom product, with decades of technology put into every custom frame and lens.  Every pair of glasses must be custom fit by an experienced optician to ensure comfort, quality and prescription accuracy. If you are thinking of ordering eyeglasses online, please don't. 

When ordering eyeglasses online,  you have no optician is there to assess exactly what part of the lens you are looking through. Generally, when you order online, companies place the vertical center of vision (as opposed to the horizontal center of vision, which is the PD, or pupillary distance) in the geometric center of the lens. 

THE RESULT:  Eyeglasses that are not properly fit will result in discomfort, additional vision problems, headaches, and stress.
