Over-the-counter drug store or supermarket readers can give you headaches and strain your eyes. Why? Because over the counter readers are one size fits all. The prescription is the same in both lenses and the location of the optical centers of the lenses are NOT customized for your eyes.
You do not have exactly the same prescription in both eyes; almost everyone has at least a small amount of astigmatism correction in their prescriptions. No over the counter readers fix astigmatism, again making you not able to see the best and will strain your eyes. Is it worth the risk?
Straining with the wrong prescription will make your eyes tired, red, itchy or feel dry and can give you headaches! Pick too weak and your eyes are still straining, choose too strong and you’ll find yourself holding things too closely and strain a different way.
You are doing your eyes a disservice buying these eyeglasses. We understand the big advantage - you can lose them and not worry because you did not pay much. Headaches, eye strain, and even nausea are what we hear everyday from patients wearing reading glasses that are not their actual prescription or have optical centers too far away from the center of their pupils.
For your eyes' sake, please consider customized PRESCRIPTION readers. Doug Wohl cuts lenses in Wohl's own lens lab and will pass those savings to you. Because Wohl Optics cuts their own lenses, you will learn that our readers are not as expensive as you may think. Our frames are as low as $30.
It's win-win; you get your proper prescription in your readers at a budget price. And, you are not straining your eyes with readers that are not the right prescription. Take care of your eyes.
Don't confuse reading glasses with specialty glasses such as those used for hobbies, knitting, needlepoint, reading music, or computer work.
If you're using reading glasses to view your computer screen, it's probably not working very well. Find yourself learning forward to look at the screen a lot? We know that reading printed matter is done at a closer range than reading text on a computer screen. Think about computer glasses or talk with me (Doug Wohl) about the latest progressive lenses which have a larger middle area for just this purpose. I will help you find the right solution for your best vision.
Proper eyewear prescription AND fit are vital for your best vision. Fit is something that you will never get right with an online optical business. Veteran owned and operated - best in Bucks County Optical eye care shop.
How could your vision be better? What situations do you feel give you trouble when wearing eyeglasses? That is why we are here.
As independent opticians, Wohl Optics decides on the frames we stock and are not dictated by corporate directives; we provide frames for glasses and sunglasses from many designer brands, as well as a wide range of affordable frames. We are not obligated to carry the same lines as most of the big box companies. Quality – As standard, we always carry the highest possible quality of prescription lens types on the market. Budget – We look for high quality frames and lenses to suit every budget, providing extremely competitive prices.
Small business owners strive to survive and one of the biggest advantages they have over large retailers is the ability to provide more personable, hands-on, and memorable customer service.
